War Against Byzantium

1 Of King’s of Jews and/or Luhds?

The discovery of the origins of the Jewry in Khazaria brings to head another mystery. Why should John or Jesus become kings of lowlife?

Answer: Because ‘lowlife’ is consequent to the creation of the ‘elite’, which is the result of the taxation of the ludi, who were the people of the wood and who earned their keep as herders of reindeer. When the original tax, the skin and fur of reindeer, and a little later, the fur of almost any wildlife animal, made a select bunch Vikings and their imitators wealthy (which set them apart from the egalitarian people of the wood), these proto-oligarchs or oligarchs obscenus—not unlike the oligarchs of today—created a union of their own or, better, the oligarch obscenus created about him a court of people, who due to their privileges were not herders, but idlers.

It was these idlers who had the exquisite sense that their positions were insecure indeed, which is why they promoted the idea that the oligarchs were more entitled to be kings than the kings of old. This relationship between the oligarch and his court, the latter which (both) came known as the a mutual admiration society. This society is not all that different from the relationship of a government bureaucracy of today to the top elites of government (presidents, generals, ministers, senators of the supreme court, department heads, etc.). While theoretically a member of a government bureaucracy may vote for whoever he she wishes, come election time, it is unimaginable that he she would not vote for the incumbent, because if this were to be, then—off with his her head, i.e., a cushy government job is exchanged for the status of one a homeless.

Thus, slowly at first, but at an increasing pace, the secular king (the oligarch) began to dismiss the ‘sacred king’ (rex sacer) and push him to the sidelines, where he (generally a male of our species) gradually became identified with a mere homo sacer—a sacred but bare and discredited human being.

The destruction, indeed elimination, of Rex Sacer (by the grace of God) by the oligarch, aka Pontius (the torturer in Slavic languages) gradually brings great changes in society. One of the major changes by Rex Obscaenus (the King of Filth) is the creation of ‘democracy’, which though seemingly an equalizer of status, actually favors the ‘free market’ and ‘globalist’ ideology, which serves the oligarchs by making the common man, the ludi, a co-participant in the destruction of the community. The latter done by reducing his her status to that of a consumer of products fabricated by oligarch cartels.

None of the above happened without resistance by the Ludi. Nevertheless, the Ludi are the losers, because with the loss of Rex Sacer, they have lost their former authority and power to dismiss taxation as a hoax pulled on them by the secular rulers.

Moreover, even if the ludi wished to return to the wood (as they did in Eastern Europe as recently as WW2), this cannot be done easily, because over the course of many centuries, even since the early Middle Ages, the ruling secular elite has deliberately destroyed the wood (claiming this to be necessary for the welfare of the People—lest they freeze, or go without a roof over their heads, or be ‘terrorized’ by the Wolves—the Resistance—taking refuge in the Wood), and in one way or another  stuffed the people into cities. These of course are but abstracted deserts, where creativity has become destructive and is being used solely to make the creators, the creative ones, whether artists or inventors, more Money.

The struggle of the Ludi against Rex Obscenus did not go unnoted in literature. We all know the reflection of the story in the story of Jesus Christ (though in corrupted form), though we know almost nothing of the story of John Basil (King) of the Ludi. Yet another famous version is the story of King Oedipus, which Freud, the famous psychologist, and his school of thought corrupted so thoroughly by their interpretation that the story conveys a story of incest, that it has become almost beyond recovery.

Still, if the reader wishes to understand that the story (and play) is actually a story of the story of the murder of Rex Sacer (Laius) by Homo Sacer (Oedipus), I encourage a read of my version at http://oedipusrexrewritten.blogspot.com/

UN-PICNOLEPTING THE THEATRE

There are all kinds of theatres: Theatre of the… absurd, of the dead, of cruelty, of Holywood, of photo session, and on and on. But all such ‘theatres’ are in the tradition of the theatre of the West: a kind of mirror image of how the fashionable writer perceives reality in death. This is why I see this tradition more like ‘a theatre on the moon’ and as a ‘theatre of the artfully dead’.

Today the theatre is a form of passive entertainment. Whether a member of the audience has read the play before coming to the theatre and, thus, knows the story beforehand or simply comes and discovers what the story is by watching the performance (this likely a movie theatre), the best result is never more effective than a dream so impressive that it awakens us and is remembered for a long time after the dream has ended. No such stabbing dream has visited the theatre for a very long time.

The passive nature of the audience of a contemporary theatre or dream, causes it, in effect, to be like a cloud of Mind (whatever that is: a mobile Ice Cream Van?), which at a given time passes over the heads of dead or men, women and children caught by and locked into a narcoleptic fit.

In recent times, because the narcoleptic fit has outlasted the patience of life to wait any longer for recovery, and the theatre has taken on the nature of a political ‘demonstration’, which is no less ‘dead’, because it presumes that the viewing public has been ‘turned on’ emotionally by a select group of ‘actors’ in government hire, who incite the emotions by throwing flaming bottles filled with petrol, smash windows, and burn cars and stores.

While an audience of dead men, women, and youths as demonstrators is a necessity for the theatre of desperation, which may on occasion turn violent, the consequences on the ‘participating audience’ is to return it home even more ‘dead’ than before coming on the scene: a) the audience may have been turned (at the scene) into corpses by police violence, or b) it returns home to be recruited as soldiers in a Revolutionary Army to be killed en-masse on the battlefield of this or that Waterloo, or c) they simply return to the hum-drum where death is concealed by teams of morticians, predecessors to ‘Spetsnaz’ teams of the military today.

Those among us who identify themselves as ‘Jewish’ or ‘Muslim’ were the first to make this ‘breakthrough’ to life-everlasting by concealing dead hominids underground before sundown. The breakthrough began with the arrival of yatsak [yat=hunt; sak=skin, fur; (tax paid in animal skins)], as the demand for animal skins left so many bloody corpses of animals lying about that the quickest way for hominids to conceal their crimes against wild-life was to become meat eaters, which turned our stomachs into de facto factory cemeteries, the products of which we hastened to flush down the toilet, lest we are overwhelmed by a host of buzzing angels all become flies.

Death-denial has several desirable social functions http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demiurge : a) it returns us with little trouble to the unconscious, which we otherwise claim belongs solely to the animal kingdom; b) justifies perpetual war which makes life tolerable, as it guarantees the return of an orgiastic time (a Paradisial fuck) every generation or so to regenerate those lost due to mass social suicide in the interim; c) makes possible the extinction of hominids for long enough for our planet to re-grow its lost woods and re-evolve the animal kingdom; d) to reinvent a theatre in which death is brought back to life by a sacrifice of life on the stage.

While ‘d)’ is problematic when it comes to realization, the problem is solved if hominid life is denied a sufficient amount of ‘individual rights and freedoms’ (just enough so we deny consciousness of death and never see the ditch we must jump upon dying) and turn the ‘final event’ into a theatrical performance in which the star actor is the King, who makes Life-as-Theatre Real by declaring himself Homo Sacer (‘naked’, ‘sacred’ , and ‘accursed’ Everyman) and who takes his life in a ‘live’ rather than a picnoleptic http://picnoleptics.blogspot.com/2009/11/picnolepsy.html event on the autobahn.

While death in terms of numbers has never visited us as frequenly as in our time, we have discovered in ‘electronic’ (picnoleptic) burial a phenomenon that can be described as a ‘Theatre of Closure’. The assassination, burial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbNfOpTx5CQ , and afterlife http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSXQYvm57YM of President Kennedy is a near perfect example of the Theatre of Closure as a Package destined never to be opened.

The Theatre of Homo Sacer ( ‘naked’ and ‘sacred-accursed’ man), whether performed by the descendants of the  ’47 Ronin’ (see preceding blogs), or as in http://oedipusrexrewritten.blogspot.com/ , are yet proto versions to the ones that will soon be upon us. Animal life—out of which consciousness emerged—is in death throes or agon http://blogs.citypages.com/blotter/Bachman_hugebull.jpg  and awaits human sacrifice to survive.

LETHAL CONSEQUENCES

I have long argued that Western or Catholic (Jesus centered) Christianity has wrought havoc on our planet. Over the years (over which I have written my blogs), I have listed quite a few reasons for this.

One of the main reasons for the Christian (and Muslim) wrought disaster is the destruction of an all encompassing sphere of thought and its replacement with a uni-polar thought system.

In the Western sphere, the onset of war against an all encompassing mind began when the Crusaders attacked an earlier form of Christianity which held that thought possessed, both, the positive and negative realms, i.e., the good, the bad, the moral, and immoral. At the same time, these early Christians, led by Basil (a Slavic name for King), recognized that on our planet the negative order had to be contained and restrained by a transcending or sacrificial principle, which could be achieved only through a will to self-sacrifice.

Unfortunately, the will to self-sacrifice, introduced an illusionary split in the sphere of the all encompassing Mind, and this split was utilized by secularist oriented men, and the positivist half was violently severed from the negative or evil half. History knows this event as the ‘Crusades for Christ’, which began in 1208(?) against the Cathars in Languedoc (now part of France) and against King All Mighty (Vissvaldis-?Basil) in Livonia, now Latvia, ruler of the kingdom of Jersika (?Jerusalem).

Calling its predecessors “worshippers of ‘dualism’”, uni-polarism sharpened the distinctions by defining the negative realm as ‘evil’ and belonging to Satan (God of the minus end of the numerical scale), while simultaneously identifying itself and its God with the positive end of the numerical scale.

Catholic Christians soon attacked the Sovereign Christians and gained the upper hand through the fact that they accepted the guidance of a system of bureaucrats, which was established by the ‘Church’ leaders, most of who were the unemployed siblings of secular leaders seeking power and wealth for themselves.

In practical terms, secular leadership meant the replacement of a system of government led by a Priest-King with a system of middlemen, who early on were priests serving a runagate King. Early or Sovereign Christianity had no middlemen, but were led in their orientation by what then seemed a realm of an all encompassing sphere of mind. Furthermore, their orientation was conditioned by the fact that our planet at that time was covered by wood, and their habitat was that wood.

To live in a wood means clearing a small ground of trees and build in the clearing a house, often a communal house http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvyBSu1zqvM , or in some cases, moving the house up into the trees http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhF7wYpBBqE . While the Catholic missionaries may claim that these people of the jungle live in a ‘bubble’ (a world outside of our time), the argument is easily reversible by arguing that the real and unsustainable bubble is our urban centered desert http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZKqzoDMuz8 .

Of course, to listen to the advertisements of the ‘glories’ of our urban desert, we hear stress on ‘creativity’, which if analyzed reveals that such creativity is little more than an effort to escape the boredom http://www.youtube.com/user/MoMAvideos of the urban scene.

A similar paradox that Jesus centered Christianity brings us is wonderfully put by the French philosopher Paul Virilio: “…the Total Peace of deterrence is Total War pursued by other means.”*

A yet even greater paradox is why the Christianity of Jesus, obviously a creation of Capitalism (which was quite literally created of flayed skins of forest animals), which—before the invention of ‘money’—constituted the first tax, is claimed and believed to be a ‘Savior’, when by dismissing Dualism as Evil, it has no other means of deterring violence than through an ever more lethal technology of War. If implemented, this technology would result in a suicide of the implementer, the very phenomenon it seeks to escape and declares to be an act against its positivist God.

Here is where we must look back to the all encompassing mind concept. If the uni-polar and positivist mindset of the West is mistaken, then the time when deterrence of violence will no longer function and will be circumvented by ‘other means’ will surely come.

It is this ‘other means’ that has held my focus on the political alternative of the King or—as I wrote in blog 297—the ’47 Ronin’ standing in for him in a charismatic sense. It is not only because I read so many fairytales that focused on a King when a child, but because war first came into my life in 1939, at the age of six.

I remember seeing a photo of a Stuka airplane shown dive-bombing http://www.talismancoins.com/catalog/Junkers_Ju_87_Stuka_Postage_Stamp.jpg  over Warsaw and no less clearly my maternal grandfather, Kahrlis Ozols (formerly Latvia’s ambassador in Moscow) walking with my father, Jahnis Benyaminsh (Jānis Benjamiņš), editor in chief of Latvia’s then largest newspaper “Jaunākās Ziņas” (Latest News), in our garden and discussing how to react to a possible Soviet incursion into Latvia. As I recall, the tone of the discussion centered the fact that both were citizens of Latvia in ‘good’ standing, and as such had nothing to be ashamed of or fear.

A few years later the Soviets shot them both, Karlis possibly with Stalin’s knowledge in Moscow, my father in Astrahan.

I often think back to those days and mull over in my mind what—all things considered—my ‘ideal’ and ‘true’ reaction ought to be (both men were oriented toward capitalism). It is this ‘mulling’ that continues in my mind that maintains the concentration of my thoughts on the King, and leads me to conclude that if Stalin had acted as a self-declared homo sacer (he had the necessary absolute authority) and sacrificed his life for the Bolshevik cause as a ‘naked’ and ‘sacred’ man, I would hold that the sacrifices of my family had not been in vain.

However, as it stands, if Stalin, the man, would rise from the dead and come before me, I would, in my old age, wish him eternal life, find me a few worthy witnesses, and take my life before his eyes to revenge mine.

Deaded in Megalopolis

No word is as overplayed and overused today as ‘creativity’. There is but one reason for it: the violence and lack of creativity within the urban sprawl, aka megalopolis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megalopolis_(city_type) .

One of the earliest critics of urbanism was Lewis Mumford http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_Mumford . In his book, “The City in History” (1961), Mumford, born at the end of th 19th century, was not yet so brainwashed by banker-led and urbanist bred capitalism that he did not perceive that the capitalist ‘white ship’ was being blown by the ill winds of advertising for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_City_in_History the gates at the edge of the Seas, under a sign that read “Beware Megalopolis—A Dead End Labyrinth”.

Our modern Theseus has no golden thread to borrow from Ariadne to escape the trap http://www8.georgetown.edu/departments/medieval/labyrinth/info_labyrinth/ariadne.html . All evidence in our modern times proves that once in the labyrinth, there is no way out, because advertising is so accurately attuned to our autoerotic needs that no heterosexual love or need of community can prevail as long as there is money that can buy it in the shape of an artifice. We all know that frustrated housewives of wealthy husbands go shopping to lower stress.

Yet, as I wrote at the end of my previous blog, there is such a thing as autoerotic death with the community acting the lover. In ancient times, before the institution of marriage was forced on us, it was women who acted the role of the community, and the King never lacked their attention or love. With the modern State and media continuing to pay lip service to the institution of marriage, ‘democratic’ sexuality, aka sex between consenting adults, coexists with the paradox of ‘marriage’ and prevention of the emergence of a spontaneous kingship or priesthood through vicious condemnation of paedophilia—though the stress provoked is clearly autoerotic on the part of media subject to the superego of the law.

The ‘dead end’ of our times is synonymous with the kind of ‘closed circle’ that does not know the circle as either kirtimukha http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirtimukha or Mobius circle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVsIAa2XNKc . In short, what I am trying to say, is that the plain or ‘materialist’ circle is for idiots. It does not provide for transmigration of thought become character as the links—entrance to temple and mobius strips==show.

Our contemporary civilization is stuck in a perpetual groove that it cannot get itself out of short of a catastrophe. At this time, a catastrophe is in progress as the Finance Bubble shows http://www.cyniconomics.com/2014/01/18/tracking-bubble-finance-risks/ , even as ‘proud atheists’ build themselves monuments. The problem is that atheists may be able to multiply 2x2, but do not know what 2 squared is. Which is to say, that belief has nothing to do with God or Gods, but is knowledge that thought fills the universe and that whatever the reality that one has transmigrated to may be, it is too demanding of our attention to escape except through prayer.

This leads me to think that the ongoing catastrophe will continue and our commitment to ‘democracy’ will disintegrate right along with it. We are, so to speak, being tenderized.

Men who work in the wood destroying our Latvian woods tell people who I know that whole regions of young women (such as remain and have not left the country) go to ‘work’ to the capital or roads leading to it as whores. One such, who rents an apartment from someone I know and fell in arrears, paid back the rent multiplied by one and a half. She explained that because her husband had fallen sick, she had gone looking for work and had found a good ‘job’. I am told that the going price for one who knows what she is doing is about fifty Euros an hour. Latvia joined the Euro twenty days ago, and got praised by Van Rompuy and Barosso who came for a visit to tell how smoothly our political jerk offs did their ‘job’. Our young women are getting rich, what with equal rights and singular character, but their children are born screwed by absentee mothers and never know it, while young men grin obscenely and bear it.

As someone once famously asked: What is to be done? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_Is_to_Be_Done%3F

While presently unimaginable and beyond our community’s ken, I advocate that the ’47 Ronin’ among the elderly become a permanent phenomenon. After all, only humans with a lifetime of experience have the ability to replace the ‘what is’ with ‘what was’. Were it to be so, though it would bypass becoming a political party, except for an ‘exceptional time’ when one recognizes one’s self by killing one’s self as “homo sacer” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giorgio_Agamben , it could little by little  discredit and chip away at ‘democracy’ as artifice and return to a democracy of the wood, where human beings are delimited to a Guantanamo prison renamed Washington and Brussels, where they re-elect the King, who as in former times, is a fairy-tale.

NEITHER GOD, NOR NOMOS, BUT KING

Having begun this series on the ‘King’ with Slavoy Žižek’s mischievous conjoining of the King with bureaucracy (The King and his Bureaucracy, Ch6, ‘Interrogating the Real’), it is only proper to conclude with the no less mischievous comparison that the pop philosopher makes of subjectivity with “dangerous hubris”, insisting that the claim to “authentic essence of humanity” lies “outside the domain of subjectivity”. Žižek posits the subject of authentic essence in Antigone and its human counterpoint in her sister Ismene.

I would call the other name of the “subject” that Žižek imagines—a “mask”. However, Žižek quickly becomes inconsistent and contradicts himself, when he decides to dedicate his book to an old Slovene communist, who in 1943 led an uprising of some 2000 starved Yugoslav prisoners against 2200 Italian soldiers who are their guards.

The Slovene prisoners succeed in disarming the Italian soldiers. After the war, the Slovene communist is arrested (no reason given why--by the succeeding communist-Stalinist government) and ten years later, he is forced to participate in the building of a monument that celebrates the uprising he led.

It is an ironic story, surely.

Knowingly or unknowingly, Žižek then tops off the irony by putting Stalin into role of the ‘King’, while the role of the ‘bureaucracy’ passes to Stalinist  communists, those who are enforcing Stalin’s ‘will to power’.

This leaves the reader confused as to why Žižek holds an old communist in such high esteem, for obviously the man revolted against the guards of the prison on the basis of his subjective feelings and decisions. The problem resolves itself only if one assumes that Žižek contradicts himself or Stalinists are the new Catholics.

I agree that the monument, the ‘subject’ of the ‘’monumental building project, stands for the ‘mask’ of the old communist and his rebellious comrades, who, I assume, are meant to stand for the ‘authentic essence’ of humanity.

But why should one believe that the monument stands also for ‘dangerous hubris’? Is that not like a Catholic priest demanding a pagan to renounce his old Gods (who up to the moment are a part of the man’s subjectivity) for the authentic subject of an ‘outside’ God, aka Nomos https://www.google.lv/#q=meaning+of+Nomos ? And is not Nomos synonymous with such repressive organizations of pacification as the Inquisition, the Gestapo, the KGB, and the CIA/NSA? Is not dismissing subjectivity as ‘hubris’ a matter of continued repression and denial of privacy? Therefore, is the monument not a monument to Homo Sacer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homo_sacer --the man who cannot be murdered, sacrificed, but only killed, because all he is is naked?

This brings us to “god” with a small ‘g’, because Catholicity (and Christianity derived from globalist Catholicism) surely discredited god when written with a capital G, and here Žižek and Schmitt discredit him with a small g. So, why not replace the missing figure of Trust with the long neglected figure of King?

Would not a King serve the 900,000 Latvians forced into economic exile as de facto ‘homo sacer’ better than the bureaucratic totalitarian democracy, which with the backing of the totalitarian democracy of the EU takes upon itself the authority to make them de facto homo sacer or, in other words, homeless?

There will be those who will claim that I would reinstall subjectivity in place of an objective (rational law) government that a Hegelian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hegelianism bureaucracy presumes itself to represent. As Schmitt asserted: “all significant concepts of the modern theory of the state are secularized theological concepts”. Here we may remember that Catholic Christianity spent many centuries violently persecuting and inquisitorially repressing an earlier Christianity now identified with Bogomils, Cathars, and Krist-Yans.

The repression was necessary because like Žižek (a Hegelist), Catholicism believes human subjectivity to be a hubristic element rather than an inherent element of being human. In short, we have biocentered human beings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biocentrism_(ethics) opposed by virtual or ‘man-made’ human beings, who are created by words imbued with violent attributes gained through innumerable acts (? 900,000) of de facto (unacknowledged de jure) murders.

To discuss the means by which the King may return is a task beyond these blogs, which are meant to argue against the totalitarianism of liberal democracy in an attempt to overturn its dictatorial order that has taken the helm in Latvia. Even so, we may say—in agreement with Carl Schmitt—that the nature of democracy is to behold the rights of the rulers and the ruled as one. In other words, this is what makes democracy a charismatic force, whereas today it has become an alien and an enemy.

I have argued for the return of humankind to the wood and leaving urbanism as a minimal element, an element to be determined by none other than the post-urbanist age itself (certainly not by a carbon tax).

I am arguing that Latvians make a serious attempt to recapture for their political estate the King. In a preceding State (1918-1939), though not the post-Soviet Latvia, Latvians did indeed experiment with the notion of the ‘king’s’ return, even though the word was seldom used. This experiment was enjoined by one of the founders of the national community, Karlis Ulmanis, who became President of the country as a result of a coup d'état in 1933.

Ulmanis was condemned as a dictator, and many hold him such to this day. I argue, however, that Ulmanis was ahead of his time, and that political science had not yet made such strides as it has made by our time. Be that as it may, a great many Latvians praise Ulmanis’ leadership, but suffer not expressing the praise because they find themselves under a totalitarian liberal democratic regime, which in turn is under the umbrella of a liberal totalitarian ‘democratic’ regime in European Union.

The King & I

THE KING & TRUST

There are a number of elements in my conception of King and Democracy that differ from such as I may come across in the course of the day to day conversation or readings in the media.

In the beginning the King probably never existed as a real person (or perhaps only as an exception), but as one of the imagination. In that sense, he was probably more like a God.

In an earlier blog, I suggested that at a time when most people lived in the wood and practiced a subsistence economy (keeping their own fruit and vegetable gardens and herding reindeer or other animals in a setting of an all encompassing wood), the King filtered into the lives of the people through the fairy-tale. In other words, this was the “dream-time” of Pangaea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangaea , even if by then Pangaea had ceased to exist as an actual primal continent.

It is possible that the fairy-tale was welcomed and gained favor, because the concept of homo sacer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homo_sacer in a literary Pangaea suggested protection from an arbitrary death brought to men indistinguishable from a lottery number, i.e., through a chance meeting with death and being turned into a shrunken head http://www.skeptiseum.org/images/exh/shrunken-heads.jpg .

The reader will note that the geopolitical setting of ‘dream-time’ is distinguished from that of today by the absence of Urbania. Instead, Pangaea and/or wood, were identified as the original home of the King. It was during this dream-time when through the medium of the fairy-tale the ideal King took on his characteristics. It was essential for the dreamers and listeners to the stories about the King they heard told about a trustworthy being. The idea about the King was shaped by both the story tellers and those who listened to the tales at campfires or hearths.

The fairy-tales contained facts (the physical reality of an actual kingdom in real space cannot be denied) and fantasy. Fact and fantasy combined in imagining the King as living in a ‘castle of light’. Gradually the castle evolved from (an origin as a Temple in the wood http://www.westheimphoto.com/lightbox/gallery/ChinaStockPhotos/CHNhw296.jpg ?) into a Court, and from a Court into a city. Because the King needed to be one whom one could trust, he was imagined as one who was just, and knowing that to be just (given the subjective nature of the human psyche) is not easily possible, the King was imagined as a being willing to self-sacrifice himself, as much for the sake of the community as for the sake of reminding himself to stay just.

The fairy-tale was carried back to the King, and influenced his behavior as well. We see the tale reflected in the Christian story about the life of Jesus, even though the present version of the story differs from the original. The story of Jesus reflects the self-sacrificial nature of the original King, whose name may have been John Basil or John Krst-Yan (see future blog 291).

For all the paradoxes involved, the name of John Basil is reflected in the names of Tsar Ivan the Terrible, the Aztec Sun God Nanauatzin, Genghis Khan, King Zheng, King John of England, and many others.

At some point, however, the King and the fairy-tale lost control over events. This happened, when the Princes of the Court, took note that Trust could be substituted by Power and acted on their perception.

The forces of this ‘perception’ unleashed what we call liberalism.

Quote from previous blog’s link on Schmitt: “Although many critics of Schmitt today, such as Stephen Holmes in his The Anatomy of Anti-Liberalism, take exception to his fundamentally authoritarian outlook, the idea of incompatibility between liberalism and democracy is one reason for the continued interest in his political philosophy.[

With the advent of ‘liberalism’ the city (not necessarily an unknown, though known only as an exception) began to expand and multiplied in numbers, and has—by our time—taken complete control not only of the wood, but of biological nature itself.

Humanism, along with the hubris of the violent is in complete control of the social sphere today. Anti-social elements such as Pussy Riot present themselves as forces worthy of trust, even as it is apparent that they do not possess knowledge neither vital to the survival of human kind at large nor even suspect the existence of such knowledge.

Elimination of self-sacrifice has turned the rule of ‘law’ into chaos. The ‘law’ today is like a ball of yarn with a thousand strands of yarn somehow rolled into a single ball—where do you seize the tail end of a yarn that leads one to tie all the lose ends together into one string that will knit one sweater?

Chaos has led to legal theories such as that of Carl Schmitt. Giorgio Agamben  sees in Schmitt’s theories a kind of violence, which “…necessarily bears a juridical value, [and] is another example of the fusion of right to ‘bare life’ (It. vita nuda, Grk. zoe) that transforms the juridical system into a ‘death machine,’ able to perform acts of pure violence as needed for self-legitimation, creating Homo sacer, a being that cannot be "murdered" or "sacrificed" but only killed.

The Nomos of the Earth, Schmitt's most historical and geopolitical work, shows that Schmitt envisioned his legal theories in the context of a society evolving along the lines of its immediate preceding past. This writer prefers to look at community in the context of an evolving society that includes devolution in the sense of turning away from a wrong path taken, and not continuing ever deeper into the labyrinth of the city, but making an exit and returning to the wood, in effect, from total distrust of politics to Trust that again becomes God. With the return of the King and self-sacrifice, it ought to be a short step.
