CITY AND WOOD DO NOT RELATE (5 of 5)

The concerns about the warming of the climate pushed by the ‘greens’ of all shades is touching, but as we all can see—of no significance in effecting any ‘real’ changes on our planet.

The reason for this is simple, but escapes notice: people who live in an urban environment differ significantly from people who used to live in the environment of the wood or countryside farm. The processes of thinking in the two environments differ radically from one another.

While we keep hearing the urban ‘greens’ argue for a ‘better’ environment, we never hear them argue that our civilization’s ‘speedy’ ‘progress’ toward ‘negative horizon’* has to be stopped in its tracks if the environment is to be prevented from collapsing and life reduced to moth and worm.

The link below leads to environmental news from China, one of the worst polluters of our planet. That country’s leadership makes-believe that it brings us ‘good news’ by issuing a new environmental ‘law’ that may somehow curb the ‘progress’ of pollution the government achieved after the meeting of ‘Mao-Kissinger-Nixon’ in 1972.

Try as they might to revive their of Confucian tradition http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/15/china-expected-to-elevate-environment_n_5150010.html?utm_hp_ref=green , it no longer stands for reason, if the government proceeds with its plans to move 100 million peasants from the countryside into cities by the year 2020 http://gizmodo.com/chinas-ambitious-plan-to-move-100-million-people-from-1545817164 .

The ‘greens’ of China, that is to say the International Confucian Ecological Alliance (ICEA) may solicit a hundred Harvard professors to invoke Confucius (and “the classic Chinese trinity of Heaven, Earth and Man”) times 24/7/365, but if they cannot think for themselves and change the word ‘man’ to ‘life’, today even Confucius becomes inconsequential; re: http://www.globaltimes.cn/content/831535.shtml#.U014dWeKA5g .

As I see it, the problem lies in making a switch from thinking communism through ‘progress’ to thinking communism through ‘autarchy’ and self-sufficiency.

This, of course, applies to all countries. The failure of the U.S. economy ought to be a shining example of what ‘progress’ as thoughtless capitalism leads to http://libertyblitzkrieg.com/2014/04/14/the-homeless-in-nyc-are-now-living-in-tiny-spaces-in-the-frame-of-the-manhattan-bridge/ .

Virilio argues that the “negative horizon” has been instituted by a State dedicated to “indefinitely perpetuating extermination”. He explains that the ‘extermination’ began with “Athenian autochthony… [and] a ceremony leading the panathenaeans up the Acropolis from the cemetery of the Kreameikos, from birth to the public death of these ‘sons of the fatherland, for whom time is annulled in the irrevocable return from the end to the origin”.**

Perhaps my criticism of Virilio is contained in the fact that I am unwilling to follow the neo-elite of our times to whatever their Acropolis. This means that I would be gripped by fear strong enough to cause me to step out of the line winding its way up-hill and run down the hill instead.

Rather, than return to the cemetery of the Kreameikos, I am hoping that I will be intercepted by the ‘deforested’ wood ‘miraculously’ resurrecting itself before my sight and step, and that with the genes of an ancient Slav in my blood, I would fall on my knees and praise God and Mother Earth.

Yes, a humankind practicing autarchy will think radically different from todays ‘best and brightest’. And, yes, such radical thinking is necessary, but will not come without an imposition of autarchic regimes the world over. Like my sudden fall on my knees, the sylvan environment necessarily encourages superstition and fearlessness before the scientific criminals from MIT, Silicon Valley, and Southern Cal and, who knows, where else.

But how are we to make this sudden transition from violent urban capitalism to a peaceful sylvan autarhy?

I believe that we must remember the old say by John (also  Jesus): “…for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword (Matthew 26:52, King James).

As I have argued in numerous blogs, the sword was first brought to autarchic civilizations of the wood by the Vikings fleeing the harsh environment of Scandinavia by the river routes provided by the Volga, Dniepr, Donau, and other. The rivers led the demoralized herders back to the regions of the Black Sea where they had originally come from. It is worth noting that upon their return the once peaceful herders (Johns) had become zhans d' armes (from Dutch), i.e. armed men taking suck of blood rather than reindeer milk.

Instead of milking reindeer, the Vikings now killed them for their fur and instituted a thousand year long Reich of taxation. And the men and women of the wood who resisted them, they raped and then killed, forcing their descendants to take up arms, and thus creating an armed civilization. They also substituted the religion of Gods and God of the people of the wood with an agod (? Godo) born of the city in the desert.

It is not a coincidence that the forces of NATO today are led by a presumptuous Dane named Rasmussen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anders_Fogh_Rasmussen#NATO_Secretary_General , and that this man is telling the Slavs that they are making “a historic mistake” http://www.dw.de/natos-rasmussen-warns-russia-against-historic-mistake-in-ukraine/a-17550618 by presuming the Ukraine a territory of their historical past.

It is neither Rasmussen or all the universities of the West put together that know what their history is, and that the history that they pretend is all a lie and a violence. Today history in the Ukraine acts on a psychosomatic disorder all its own.

*A term first used by Paul Virilio in the title of his book “L’Horizon Negatif”,  1984.

U.S. & E.U. FAIL EXAM

It is not well known that the name ‘America’ derives from a Bristol, England merchant (Richard Amerike), that the design of the American flag derives from his coat or arms http://www.uhmc.sunysb.edu/surgery/america.html , and that the name of America was known in Bristol before 1500. As surprising as this may be, it fits in well with ‘America’ as a land not fully aware of itself.

I say “not fully aware”, not because the founding fathers of America were not serious about America, but because subsequent to the founding fathers (John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, …), those who came after them, especially the northern industrialists who won the Civil War (which was waged on behalf of Capitalism http://www.civilwarhome.com/civilwarindustry.htm , not for the sake of liberating black slaves) took the country lightly, acted superciliously, and had no hesitations about running it into the ground as we are witnessing it at this time.

The ‘slave issue’ played the same role in the Civil War (1861-1865) as the issue of ‘freedom’ plays in the current supercilious effort to globalize our planet on behalf of the descendants of that same Capitalism, which cares not a whit about ‘freedom’ or ‘life’, though it has increased its size by forming an alliance with the European Capitalists, which for diversionary purposes call themselves NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) countries.

As a resut, Capitalism has become more dangerous, at the same time as it is more vulnerable.

The dangers of Capitalism today are best seen in the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea theatre of its operations. At the time of this writing, it is spreading its doctrine of ‘freedom from slavery’, now modified to ‘human rights first’ doctrine, to Syria and the Ukraine http://rt.com/news/ukraine-kiev-opposition-clashes-045/, and is preparing to begin a war against Iran.

The trouble with Capitalism is that it has proven a failure by the happenstance that puts control of the materialist philosophy into the hands of the rich. Nevertheless, Capitalism must now fight against enemies for whom industrialism is no novelty and who are better educated and mentally more disciplined than those forced to grow up in a society under capitalist dominion where the desire to consume is at a more intense level than is the ability of capitalists to dominate. To give it a technical explanation: Capitalism overextended itself, and now drains its accumulated wealth as water elevated to higher ground, given a start, siphons the water from the barrel of its own accord.

The centralized (federalized) government of the U.S. facilitated the siphoning process of its own power by overreacting to the 9/11 event, when it sought to make use of it to further the ends of some private individuals in government at the time. The attack against Afghanistan snow-balled (siphoned) into direct or indirect (proxy) attacks on Iraq, Libya, Syria, encouraged civil unrest in Egypt, the Ukraine, and there is no end in sight short of the barrel draining empty and the wind blowing it off its high perch.

One may argue that what the U.S. did was only logical, because the said countries sit, so to speak, above ground level (rather than be allowed to seek ground level), where they were put by the artifice of the colonial governments of England and France in an earlier day.

The United States however belatedly remembered that it is not a single nation, but a federation of over fifty States, which gave up their sovereignty for the alleged benefits of a Union. Unfortunately, the Union did not ‘work’ for the benefit of the potential of its nations, but for private corporate capital. All too often, State governments became springboards to ambitious governors who wished to become Presidents of the Federation.

Not surprisingly, once the Federal Government had destabilized the all too uncertain balance of Capitalist interests vs Community interests, and once it realized that it lacked unifying charisma, it began to arm the local police force as if it were to become an occupying army of the States http://libertyblitzkrieg.com/2014/01/23/why-is-a-gigantic-war-blimp-about-to-fly-above-the-skies-of-suburban-baltimore/ .

One always wants to fantasize that peace will prevail and that destabilization will not reach tremors above 8 on the Richter scale.

Though America claims to have a ‘charismatic’ government as a result of being a freely elected ‘democracy’, it is no secret that this ‘democracy’ is an illusion held up by a media that gets paid to advertise the consumerist fairy-tale ad infinitum, even as it denies a charismatic King, his wood, and true democracy the right to life, but panders it to the likes of urban environment protection groups that never suffer a martyr.

To put it bluntly, the U.S. government goes without charisma even among its own. How can we expect it to impose its imperialism on Europe?

It is obvious that the present EU is the consequence of a militaristic coup imposed through the barrel of the gun by NATO, which is to say, the present vision of the EU as an empire of European nations or ‘fatherlands’, which may provide some of its present leaders the Presidency of an Empire and, inspire them with the initiative to fool their own people (as the above mentioned U.S. State governors use their office as a stepping stone to the Presidency of the U.S.) is a grossly inadequate bonding mechanism.

THE LAW SUFFERS A SEIZURE

As the rule of law increased and along with it its imagined benefits, it became an increasingly desired object for control. The early times of self-made rules of the wood were forgotten as the wood disappeared (was cut down) and was replaced by urban sprawl from which no one, once in it, may escape.

Unlike the wood, an urban environment is all artifice, which as it increases in wealth and complexity becomes the object of increasing praise of those responsible for creating it—whether it is sustainable or not. The complex urban environment becomes an error even poets have difficulties to perceive, as W. B. Yeats in his poem ‘Sailing To Byzandium’ failed to see and praised: “Once out of nature I shall never take/ My bodily form from any natural thing,/ But such a form as Grecian goldsmiths make/ Of hammered gold and gold enamelling….”

What Yeats in effect describes is the U.S. Supreme Court: a legal body so enamored of itself as the lord of America’s urban desert that it no longer recognizes the subjective side of human beings as, both, a vital and brutal life force inspired to resist official artifice, but compels it to send to jail such a number of Americans that America has become the largest prison house our planet has ever known. America may not have gulags, but it has the largest prison system in the ‘democratic’ world, and many of the incarcerated are there because of ‘qualified immunity’ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qualified_immunity that federal and state employees may invoke to “…shield[s] government officials [and their subjective minds and actions] from liability for the violation of an [forest] individual's federal constitutional rights.”

Even if one may be inclined to justify ‘qualified immunity’ because those employed by the State are forced to work in an environment in which their subjective mind no longer functions or copes with the situations  normally, the State is never asked to explain why it has allowed such conditions to come into being.

Yes, we all have heard it: “We cannot stop human nature.”

In our times, when the condition of the world has been so obviously driven with its forehead into a ‘no exit’ sign and human beings find themselves challenged beyond their capacity to deal with or resolve the difficulties, the State increasingly falls back on its ‘power’ to compel conformity and/or find a solution among which a kill by the police http://rt.com/usa/fbi-kelly-thomas-evidence-589/ or a war with other States is not excluded, but is provoked, even if through proxies. The following, pointed out by columnist Patrick Buchanan, is a case in point:

[http://original.antiwar.com/buchanan/2014/01/13/a-blank-check-for-war-on-iran/  “Today the Senate is about to vote Israel a virtual blank check – for war on Iran. Reads Senate bill S.1881: If Israel is ‘compelled to take military action in legitimate self-defense against Iran’s nuclear weapons program,’ the United States ‘should stand with Israel and provide … diplomatic, military and economic support to the Government of Israel in the defense of its territory, people and existence.’ … this bill virtually hands over the decision on war to Bibi Netanyahu who is on record saying: ‘This is 1938. Iran is Germany.’”]

Let us hope that the bill does not pass.

In the case of America, difficulties for human society to deal with were foreseen many years ago as part of America’s capitalist economic system, which unfailingly drives the society to compete with its own and others until a bloody conflict resolves the resulting knot— as Alexander the Great is said to have let his sword solve his own problems.

In so far as European leaders agree with America that the problems of the future were beyond their ability to solve and, thus, joined America in forming secret armies of NATO http://www.amazon.com/NATOs-Secret-Armies-Operation-Contemporary/dp/0714685003 , the leadership of the European Union is no less guilty of recapturing Europe for capitalism and compel its people to solve the problems with blood disguised behind a military mask of ‘qualified immunity’.

At least one subjective mind concludes that the collective leadership of the Super states, in this case the EU (not only) is suffering a brain seizure similar to the type it was seized by in World War I, twenty years later by World War II, and appears to have yet another one fifty years later by tying the sovereign liberties of Europeans into yet another bureaucratic knot and applying as glue plenty of tricks of law. At this time, the best trick appears to be a promise of ‘human rights’, glazed over by a thick layer of  ‘consumer products’, over those of ‘community rights’ that have stood their ground for thousands of years.

Is this really necessary? Is there not a way out?

Eso’s Chronicles 226/ 12
Blood to Go
© Eso A.B.

America’s misfortune is that it inherited ‘democracy’ in the form of an unsolved European crime, but was fooled into believing that the crime was a divine gift through the Magna Carta http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magna_Carta , Pilgrims-Calvinists http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_religion_were_the_pilgrims , and the Age of Enlightenment and Reason http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Enlightenment.

What America has not understood to this day is that urban ‘democracy’ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_democracy is a delusion that finds for itself a delusionary act to translate into. It is like you have just come on the street after seeing a fantastic movie and are asking yourself: “Where can I find myself a lover or heroic role similar to the one in the movie?” You find the answer by going into a pizza parlor and ordering a pizza with anchovies. In short, you slap yourself in the face with the tail of a fish.

True democracy exists only in the wood, where every tree offers an opportunity to either hide or climb if whoever comes towards you appears stronger than you and you have not made your greeting friendly, or—if you are more courageous—you make him-her your dinner and no human rights organization will make an issue of it. In our post-wood civilization, where the ‘natural’ environment has been turned into an urban setting, ‘democracy’ is but a longue durée memory of the liberties in the wood, now best expressed through liberal capitalism, libertarianism, and libertinism. As stated in the previous blog in a slightly different context, ‘democracy’ is the death of death itself, which in every day language translates itself as “this is all there is” , “enjoy it while you can”, “the strong rule”, “the rich chose the music”.

I have also written that the event that set the modern era into motion was the substitution of the Christianity of the Wood with a Christianity of urbanites, which Christianities do not much differ from ‘democracy’ in the wood and ‘democracy’ in the city respectively. Because these bipolar versions of democracy and Christianity are not well understood and even less discussed, the original versions have fought the latter version with bloody and tragic fury, while the latter (in possession of nuclear bombs, and night vision goggles) claim the former belong in a oo.

I have no particular wish to pick on America, because—as stated in the first sentence—Europe is where the alternate or neo- versions of ‘Christianity’ and ‘Democracy’ took root and were the gospel stories were ghost written and ancient literature was rewritten. In so far as other governments (Russia, China, et al) have evolved influenced by European and American versions of Christianity and democracy, these, too, face a bloody comeuppance. As much as a comeuppance spells disaster, it cannot be avoided, because there is no other solution to the never faced problems of governments and the economy other than through a reintroduction of death in a manner never to be forgotten. I dare say, I see Robespierre, Stalin, and Pol Pot as comic book characters to the Saturn whom many artists have been prophesying as being on the way, but never quite succeeding in portraying the horror, because their works, always based on experiences of their times have never reached the crescendo that is yet ahead. Were we to create an artistic series, we would likely begin with the tapestries once covering piles of potatoes on a French http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/04/20/article-1378818-0BA5552900000578-103_634x399.jpg potato field, take a look at the Goya’s Saturn http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturn_Devouring_His_Son , and end with Picasso’s ‘Guernica’ http://www.jkrweb.com/art/images/guernica.jpg , which in 2003 the U.S. had removed from the hall of United Nations http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2003/02/guer-f08.html  because Collin Powell had war on Iraq and execution of Saddam Hussein in mind.

It is worth noting that the false flag of urban ‘democracy’ has been propping itself up by selecting fascism and communism as the bugaboos which will seize power if ‘democracy’ is turned out of its blood smeared offices. America and its cronies in Europe have ‘outlawed’ fascism by pointing to the atrocities of Hitler against the Jews. Russia, too, through Lavrov, its foreign minister, states: “Sure enough, the Russian-Belgian contacts had to string along with the twists and turns of the European history, but we can say with full confidence that mutual affection between our peoples has been the constant of our relationship. Now that ideological contradictions are a thing of the past…” In other words, now that bloody ‘democracy’ has a clear field as a result of the collapse of fascism and communism and there appears to be no chance of a re-analysis, ‘democracy’ may resume ruining the planet.

As we ought to know, both Belgium and Russia have their own bloody histories. Belgium’s King Leopold II (1835-1909) exceeded Hitler’s and Stalin’s murders, perhaps more than the two put together http://www.historytoday.com/tim-stanley/belgiums-heart-darkness . Yet Lavrov’s statement clears the field for a Europe and Russia--‘knocked for a loop’ by their recent histories--to make recovery of their former ways and with renewed underhanded methods compete over the colonization of Eastern Europe through cooperative federalization greased by compliant politicians of impoverished nations. Sadly, the people of the formerly occupied nations are unable to gather their wits because their minds are massaged and whitewashed by urban democratic ideals and their forests are turned into tree stumps by banks.

Yet as a number of  founding fathers of American ‘democracy’ pointed out, especially Jefferson http://www.ushistory.org/us/20.asp , America was not a federalist nation. In short, at least some of the founding fathers of America implicitly argued that the future of democracy ought to evolve along the lines of an autarky. To be sure, some have suggested that an autarky is a de facto fascist state, while forgetting that an autarkic government was the nature of government when humankind subsisted on the goods of nature and these had not been exhausted by being turned into ‘resources’ by proto-capitalist and capitalist governments, which decimated forests to plant grains, which are more quickly turned into money than animal furs.

Unfortunately, Jefferson’s ideas did not prevail, and America, its territory at that time (1743-1826) yet in a natural state, was wide open to invasion by technology, which began its assault by building railroads and killing off the native population. Technology, no doubt, facilitated the development of capitalism, which exploited and continues to exploit the planet: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-24222392

The dangerous momentum that built America, turned catastrophic after the U.S. claimed to have ‘won’ WW2 (1945) and brought the Soviet Union to its knees (1991). Its wealthy, bloated, and simplistic minded elite began to overreach when they presumed to export ‘democracy’ with increasingly bloody methods to countries not yet directly under the control of their Federal Reserve Bank. As evidence of spying by the NSA shows https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/france-newest-ally-angry-over-nsa-spying , ‘democratic’ proto-invasions began as early as 1960s, though not yet on such a scale as in the present computerized era. Due to the financial and economic crisis, instigated by dysfunctional ‘democratic’ governments, now striking all Western-born nations simultaneously, Europe has become increasingly frantic in its attempt to become a Federalized Union. Brussels power plays have brought alarm to at least one European country—England.

Eso’s Chronicles 225 / 11
False Flag of NATO
© Eso A.B.

If anyone wishes to know what is wrong with our planet, the answer is that the human race which Earth has borne is psychologically sick. It no longer has a government that can hold a community together for a length of time.

There are a many examples of this psychological sickness. Some of its consequences: the nuclear bomb and its ‘harmless’ everyday expression, through nuclear power, which from Fukushima is spreading the radiation disease to all the life forms inhabiting and all the countries surrounding the Pacific ocean.

As far as government ‘protection’ is concerned, it is little more than a repetition of the insulting demand for our forebears to have ‘faith’ in the teachings of the monks from Frankland. Today those same monks have ‘progressed’ to ‘soldiers’ who insist that the ‘doctrine’ of ‘militarism’ be believed as faithfully as the Christian dogma of immortality. The headquarters of their organization, called NATO, remains located at its point of origin, the centre of Benelux countries, namely Brussels, and its leader is a former right wing Danish prime minister http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anders_Fogh_Rasmussen .

The country of my origin, Latvia, is a member and fervent supporter of the NATO’s false flag. While Latvia is too poor to contribute the suggested 2% of GDP to armament in financial terms, it has agreed to extend the service of its soldiers in Afghanistan, while every other country is hastily withdrawing from this ill begotten war more than a decade old. I will not be surprised if the ill informed Latvian society soon hears the number of casualties among its soldiers sharply increasing.

As explained in many other blogs, I am a believer that the story of Jesus Christ was ghosted by the Franks, when they were forced to depart the Empire of Byzantium. The departure was due to a combination of two forces: 1) the invading Turkish tribes from the East were stronger than the divided community, and 2) the community was divided as a result of the murder by Isha, the executive king of Byzantium, of Khan, the sacred king.

“Both Mongols and Jurchens used the title Khan [or Cha-gan] for the leaders of a political entity, whether "emperor" or "chief". A particularly powerful chief was called beile ("prince, nobleman"), corresponding with the Mongolian beki and Turkish beg or bey.” [Undoubtedly, the Latvian word ‘bahlelyn’ is a derivative of ’bey’. It is not inconceiveable that the word ‘beggar’ derives from when some Ottoman prince was forced to crawl before a Christian king if he wished to save his neck.]

The word Jesus-Iesu may derive from Yishiha  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yishiha , who was a famous and powerful prince-eunuch.

These two individuals, beg and ishi, formed what is one of the oldest systems of government—a Diarchy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diarchy. The system still finds uses in our own day; see link under Canada and Northern Ireland.

It is my argument that governance of communities was seriously disturbed when one of the Diarchs, most likely Ishi was killed by Khan. The shock experienced by the governed is revealed by the fact that Khan or Cha-gan, the killer, exchanged his title for that of Ishi or Iesu. It is not that Khan was inherently a different kind of human being, but by killing Ishi, he killed the sacrificial king, the eunuch-prince, thus guaranteeing that the rulers ruled in the name of equality for all of the community.

The psychological necessity of equality, when denied, is the cause that moves humankind toward self-destruction. Without a check on him by Ishi, the Khan, King, or Yan no longer functions, and is given to ‘liberalism’ and ‘democracy’, which when institutionalized, become guarantors of chaotic governance and the elevation of capitalism to be the governing economic system. The ‘Industrial Age’ is a capitalist invention and the reason planet Earth is experiencing an environmental catastrophe and collapse of society.

A thousand years or more have passed since the death and removal of Ishi-Iesu. In these thousand years, the Khans have managed to instill in humankind an absolute fear of death, which turns death into an evil. The Khans did this by teaching humans that Ishi rose from the dead and they were born to be immortal. Only in our time do we see a reintroduction by way of quantum mechanics, the existence of parallel universes, that human beings to believe that at after their death they do not go to either hell or heaven, but cross over to what Latvians used to call: ‘The Other Sun’ (viņu Sauli).

The effort to return to a Diarchal system of government is necessarily difficult and bloody. The only politicians who have attempted it are today known as ‘communists’ (meaning: absolute egalitarians). As a result of their bloody takeovers of government, communists are almost universally condemned and belittled. Still, I would suggest that the reason for holding communism in contempt is because ‘communist’ leaders such as Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, and Pol Pot failed to end their carriers with self-sacrificial death.

The failure of the Liberal system of government (the death of death) continues to manifest itself in innumerable ‘false flags’, generally manifest as catastrophic events which are created because of the disparity of wealth between the ruling parties and their supporters (a minority of 0.1%) vs the general public (the majority). Often these false flags are discovered for what they are only years later. The slaughter in the Katyn Wood http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-24605103 , in which thousands of Polish officers and other high officials were shot by the Stalin regime, has not been openly acknowledged by the Russian government to this day. Likewise, the American government refuses to have an investigation of ‘the 9/11 incident’ in New York City.

While the False Flag, known as The New Testament, was likely written by the Franks after they had moved from the vicinity of Byzantium to that of Brussels, this flag, too, has never been acknowledged, yet continues to threaten and kill people to this day. The latest instances are the aggressive moves by NATO in the Middle East, emphatically supported  by the French (formerly Franks), the British, and Germans—all descendants of the Goths (perhaps Vikings before the renaming) who removed themselves from Byzantium.

THE NOT-UNTHINKABLE
83 Gridlocked In Latvia (2)

Pictures: Two young persons leaving Latvia for England.

It is very unlikely that the existence of Latvia is at risk as far as the territory of Latvia as an administrative center of the EU is concerned—as long as the EU exists. As time moves on, the EU (if successful) is likely to shift eastward and include Russia. However, before the latter can occur, two major policy shifts have to occur in the West and Central Europe. If these shifts do not occur, the EU faces collapse or will remain dependent on this or that “other” power.

First, the EU has to develop its own foreign policy vision out of which it will evolve its own defense straategy, and, yes, it must let NATO atrophy. As long as Europe remains part of NATO, an organization with obviously aggressive tendencies toward Russia (re the undercutting of Russia’s belly from the Mediterranean Sea to the Indian Ocean under the guise of fighting “terrorism”), Europe not only delays its own internal political development, but threatens the economic future of its people.

The age of the rule of Paris—the major sponsor of neo-Christianity and the crusades—is over. This in spite of whatever the current prime ministers of France and England may think. Of course, the EU needs energy resources, but the road to their access does not lie through Washington, which would like to see the EU remain permanently fragmented. A fragmented EU virtually guarantees that Washington will not have to discipline its oligarchic democracy, but simply shut Europe out when the Near East comes under its control. Nevertheless, it appears that at present time London, Paris (a la Brussels), and Berlin naively buy into a policy of support for NATO incursions into energy rich zones of the Near East and beyond.
Assuming (but don’t hold your breath) that Europe will do the right thing for itself, a major transformation has to occur in all parts of Europe, East, West, and Center, but with Central Europe leading the way.

It is evident that the future of a European Federation lies through Central Europe toward the East. Central Europe itself is divided into roughly three paths. First, there are the roads in the south that go by way of the Mediterranean Sea to the Persian Gulf and beyond; in the central part there is Poland, Hungary, Romania, and others; while in the north the roads go by way of the Baltic Sea. In the latter part, the Baltic countries, carved out of former Livonia, have a special role to play, because of their proximity to Petersburg and Moscow. However, the lynchpin role of the Livonian outgrowths, Latvia and Estonia, depends on the ability of these countries to evaluate our times with foresight, and then take the risk necessary to implement a new future. One of the necessary risks is to exit NATO membership and assume a neutral role vis a vis the East, i.e., Russia.
The Baltic countries need to distance themselves from NATO asap. The present financial and economic crisis is an opportune moment. As mentioned above, Latvia’s existence is not threatened as an administrative area in the European Union, but its participation in NATO threatens its existence from many directions: economic, political, and cultural. Culturally Latvia is not a Western country as some insist (see below). While Latvia was and remains exposed to various influences from the West—starting with the occupation of their territories by the Teutonic Knights—the origin of the Balts lies closer to the Volga than the Rhine. In fact, this is true for all Central European countries. This is why they have such an important role to play in a unified European Union, East and West including, be it takes a hundred years to accomplish.
At this time, however, the Germanic (perhaps one should say Habsburgian) mindset, taking advantage of the traumas visited on Central Europe by the Soviet Union, insists on its regressive preeminence. The evidence is in the continued German policy to use Central Europe as a buffer between itself and Russia. The planned gas pipeline under the Baltic Sea and Polish paranoia and love of NATO rockets is proof of it. Still, the work on the pipeline has not yet begun and the rockets are not yet in place. Since the present economic crisis is also a systems crisis, this is an opportune time for all parties to rethink their option.

In Latvia such reconsideration must begin by rejecting the strident voices arguing on behalf of the separation of Europe into two halves. Because Latvia faces elections this fall (2010), the time to reject the blocks put in the way of reanalysis by advocates of fear is now. Moreover, the advocates of the separation of Europe have suffered a yet unacknowledged loss in Latvia through the near bankruptcy (it was avoided through a sale to another party) of the preeminent advocate of the West sans East, re: the newspaper “Diena”. Interestingly, an important factor in the newspaper’s collapse was its rejectionist editorial stance with regard of the East and anti-populism.
Even so, the diehard separationists are attempting a come back. The following post from Apollo (my free translation from Latvian) here:

“Elerte sees great energy among the citizens [of Latvia]. BNS, Saturday, 13th of February, 13:48. The former editor-in-chief of the newspaper ‘Diena’, Sarmite Elerte, claimed in a speech at a meeting of the New Times (JL) Party that she feels a great flow of energy coming from the [Latvian] citizenry. ‘The citizens are more active than ever before, because the people feel that Latvia is in danger. I wish this energy to inspire the Unity Party [see Blog 82 for more details] and give it direction.’ The editor emphasized that there are many people in Latvia who will do everything not to allow Latvia to orient toward the East. ‘To choose the West is an important foundation, something that I see as an important goal and a good reason to unify over. The highest goal is Latvia—a European [Latvia], a nation able to compete [in the market place], one that has educated people. This choice [of direction] has not been put to the vote yet….’”
What does Ms Elerte mean by “…many people in Latvians will do everything (my emphasis) not to allow Latvia to orient toward the East?” Does Ms Elerte believe that Latvians are ready to shoot themselves in the foot to stop their natural inclinations? One may say that the former editor of “Diena” has been struck with what some economists call “neoliberal madness”. For a description of the latter see article “Latvia’s Neoliberal Madness", authored by economists Michael Hudson and Jeff Sommers. [Click on link, scroll to Articles.]

Indeed, Ms Elerte’s position has not been put to the test. As I am suggesting throughout my blogs, the way to test it is with a “not-vote”, that is, voting by abstaining from a vote. Though a “not-vote” is not a cure all, it is a necessary step for the citizenry of Latvia to break the stranglehold on the region of Central Europe by those who wish to keep Europe permanently separated into two halves; and, not least, to keep the citizens of Latvia permanently indentured as slaves to the banks of the West. The road to a better future lies through the hearts and minds of 700,000 not-voters.
Asterisk & Notes of Interest:
It is obvious that the mindset among the Latvian political elite at this time is not only gridlocked, but has turned to stone. THE NOT-UNTHINKABLE
82 Gridlocked In Latvia (1)
[This begins a new theme series (see above) and ends one called “NOT-VIOLENT TERROR”. While the previous series took a look (with the aid of a hologramatic perspective) into a heretofore unheard of Latvian social and anthropological past, the present series will attempt to take a closer-to-home look of things. As the reader may know, this blogger believes that during the elections on October 2 of this year (2010) the voters should give the government a NOT-VOTE. A not-vote is a vote that begins to count when it reaches numbers that give the not-voters authority over and above that of the government. While the government may claim that such a result is unthinkable, a majority not-vote gives the not-voters an opportunity to reassert their sovereignty over the government, which must resign, leaving a caretaker government to administer the state until a new Constitution is written. With but a total of 700,000 voters in Latvia, a not-vote is possible. What constitutes a quorum is a question for academics and legal experts. With regard to what Latvians may wish to accomplish with the not-vote (in one man’s opinion) and other proposals see Blog 81 and preceding.]

One may reasonably argue that the Soviet Union unintentionally conserved Latvia and its germanic cultural tilt (also known as a tilt to “the West”) of the Latvian capital of Riga and the related proto-urban landscape of the small regional cities as a result of a too slow a pace of assimilation of Latvians into the Soviet Man. Perhaps the slowness was due to Bolshevik overconfidence and brutality, and because they failed to consult with social anthropologists.

However it happened, the Soviet Union did not last long enough to cause the Latvians to lose their identity entirely. Many Latvians to this day resent profoundly the liquidations, deportations, and destructions practiced during the Soviet rule. Just as the resentment of the Jews against Hitler’s holocaust is parahistorical, that is to say, is a history never to be forgot, so the remembrance of the Central Europeans of Stalin’s atrocities are parahistorical too—certainly for Latvians.
Be that as it may, a parahistorical memory does not need to become Zionist or zionationalistic, but may transcend history and the shortness of human memory by calling for the institution of self-sacrifice on the part of high government officials not only of their own nation, but as a form of government self-control and citizen control of government the world over. This may be (and likely will be) accomplished by nullifying the separation of state and religion one of these days soon.
Parahistorical memory is not new. It was practiced in prehistorical times, when the self-sacrificial individual was known as the “Sacred King”. One of the last sacred kings was John-Jesus (in this blogger’s terminology). The cause or source that created the Sacred King in ancient times—just as in our own—is the potential of material and spiritual corruption among the rulers (in early times the elders) of the community. When a corrupt cabal of rulers (most likely those of the Byzantine Empire) had grown strong enough, they took away the “John” that was a part of Jesus’ name, and sent Jesus to Heaven. Once in heaven, Jesus could but sit on his hands. As the Latvians know, “John” was then turned by the secularists into the King of Beer. The secularists live happily to this day. The state they control continues to preach separation of state and religion, while the Balts (and the Slavs) get drunk on Johns Day, re Midsummer Eve.
Post-Soviet Latvia is, as one government official described it recently, “is not just some small nation, but we are now part of NATO”. [Director of State Chancellery (Valsts kancelejas, VK) Gunta Veismane in an interview on LTV1 program “100. Pants” on February 15, 2010.] The statement was made in an effort to justify said official’s intent to call for the Latvian State Security Police (DP) to investigate a journalist’s source of information. [The call did not go through because of the scandal that the official’s actions elicited in the media.] My reason for quoting it is that it implies an attempt by the official to justify interference with the flow of free information on the basis of Latvia being a participant in NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization). In other words, an official of the Latvian government is willing to compromise a journalist’s right to investigate by referring to NATO as a reason for compromising freedom of information. This also puts into question freedom of speech in Latvia.
Also, there is a much larger political context that the official’s statements may be put. Here is a paragraph from Blog 80: “This past week several Latvian “political” parties made yet another step toward apolitical politics when the Citizens Party (PS) declared its readiness to form a coalition with the New Times Party (JL) and Party for Different Politics (SCP). Said coalition is to be called "Unity Party", and according to Girts Kristovskis, chairperson of the Citizens Party, it will oppose parties of the oligarchs and pro-Russian parties.”
Let there not be doubt that this government’s “drang nach Westen” would not be possible without Latvia being a member of NATO, a military axis of the U.S. and the EU nations. As the Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borisov said with regard to [NATO] stationing interceptor missile components on Bulgarian soil: “My opinion is that we have to show solidarity. When you are a member of NATO, you have to work for the collective security.” Compare this to Ms Veismane’s “[Latvia] is not just some small nation, but we are now part of NATO”. It is beginning to sound as if the member nations of NATO are getting ready—in the name of “collective security”—to curtail freedom of information by intimidating journalists.

(More on Latvia’s tilt toward militarism and “the West” in upcoming Blog 83.)
